Description:  First opened by Northern Pacific in 1883, the Livingston shop complex employed around 600 workers in pre-BN days. After the 1970 merger, BN almost doubled the workforce to 1,100 workers, and the complex was responsible for all heavy maintenance and repairs on BN's entire Alco fleet.
